OneBookOnePost #7 Fictional Rockumentary

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid was one of those books that reading it is a relief. It was a delicious jaunt into the world of a rock band, much like the kick from watching cult classics like Almost Famous or Quadrophenia. This book documents the progression of hyper successful band The Six, the addition of beautiful, enigmatic, damaged Daisy and the ensuing dramas. Expect the usual; addiction, sex, highs, lows and amazing tunes. I enjoyed every page.

It is hard to believe these characters are not real and maybe the disappointment of this is the only criticism I have- surely a compliment more than negative. I would enjoy a TV show- maybe Reese Witherspoon is on the case?

Those of you who still feel a thrill listening to the drum beat of a classic rock song, an unbeatable riff and the undeniable attraction of the rock n’ roll world lifestyle enjoyed by bands such as The Rolling Stones will enjoy this little gem.
